"My daughter had a blast! It's amazing what they can accomplish in only one short week. Nothing like it anywhere else!" says Santa Monica Playhouse workshop mom Mary Ann Mayer. Wonderful! Whimsical! Wow! That's Winter Break Create-a-Play Theatre Camp at Santa Monica Playhouse.

Youngsters experience the thrill of theatre over the holidays as they create and perform in a play in only four days! "I can't stop smiling cheek to cheek!" says student Maia A. after her first day. It's a spectacular adventure in imagination where kids 6 to 14 dive into all aspects of play production, music, movement, improvisation and performance, making friends, learning to express themselves and working with professional theatre artists to present an original mini-musical of their own, complete with costumes, make-up, lighting and sound! "A delight! I always tell other parents - you get more for your money (more fun, more education, more actual camp hours) at SM Playhouse than any other camp available," advises Mary Redfield.

Wednesday through Saturday, December 26 - 29 or Thursday through Sunday, January 3-6, 9:00am to 3:00pm daily. Perfect for aspiring thespians or curious first-timers! A live performance for family and friends is the highlight of an inspiring four days of theatre activities.

Maroon 5's Mickey Madden calls the Playhouse Acting Program "Great in so many ways!" Playhouse alumni include Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Deschanel, Jason Ritter, Jason Segel, former Newark Superintendent of Schools Cami Anderson and Gadi Dechter, Deputy Director of the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning at the U.S. Commerce Department. Give your child the best holiday gift there is: the gift of fun plus self-discovery through theatre magic at Santa Monica Playhouse. What better way to end the year that by watching your kids perform live on stage in a play they helped create!
