A fictional story inspired by the 7 major voyages of the known world by Zheng Ho, a Chinese ship captain who lived and explored the world's oceans in the early 1300's in ships the size of football fields. Written by Warren Sata in 2013. Playwright Sata has served as an educator, teacher and administrator, for 25 years. He appreciates the opportunity to write plays, poetry and stories. His hobbies include museum going, music listening and reading literature. He's Harvard and Columbia University educated and is a recipient of an NEA award for his work on the Japanese Taiko Drum. Audiences will remember Twilight and Snow, Warren's powerful entry in the Santa Monica Playhouse 2017 BFF Binge Fringe Festival of Free Theatre. Farewell to Moonlight Tides will be the opening event of this year's BFF Binge Fringe Festival of Free Theatre, your new BFF (October 15 – November 12) offering over 40 plays, workshops and family-oriented events thanks to generous grants from the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Commission, Pearl and Bill Bordy, the Cotkin Family and Playhouse PALS.
