Get Involved With SaMo Pride 2023!

Get involved with Pride!!

Engage, enrich and educate at Santa Monica "SaMo" Pride 2023, the community's annual LGBTQIA+ celebration. SaMo Pride would like to invite you - our civic partners, public entities and community nonprofits - who wish to have a presence at this year's Pride festival kickoff on Saturday, June 3.

SaMo Pride, which spans the Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica Place, and the landmark Santa Monica Pier, offers a unique opportunity for civic and community partners to engage with thousands of attendees of all ages, while demonstrating allyship with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Complimentary booth spaces measuring 10'x10' are available at high-traffic locations throughout the SaMo Pride footprint, offering excellent exposure for organizations that want to connect with the community at large. We will provide one 6' folding table and two folding chairs for the community booth space; any additional materials, furniture or canopies need to be supplied by your organization.

Searching for ideas? Contact us at the email below. Other groups have already signed on to set up a mocktail bar, and roll out a mobile library, so get creative, get excited, and come join us to help strengthen the network of diversity and acceptance that makes Santa Monica such an amazing place to live and visit.

Call for Queer Artists

Artists from the LGBTQIA+ community are invited to submit proposals to create one of six photobooth installations at the 2023 Santa Monica "SaMo" Pride festivities on Saturday, June 3.

Each unique, standalone photobooth will be stationed in high-traffic locations spanning downtown Santa Monica, interpreting the theme "Colors of PRIDE." Queer artists from all disciplines have the opportunity to amplify LGBTQIA+ culture and history through an artistic, personal and interactive lens, while enriching the SaMo Pride experience for all generations.

We want you to think outside the box, be creative and design your photobooth as an immersive experience where thousands of attendees of all ages can step inside your vision. Installations are limited to a 10'x10'x10' space.

We will help bring your vision to life! Once selected, you will be asked to develop your design idea, and we will help construct your photobooth with one of our carpenters. You will also receive a $500 honorarium and have your photo and bio included on the official SaMo Pride website.

Images of participants from each photobooth will be used to create a Colors of Pride photo- mosaic and contribute to the legacy of inclusivity, diversity and acceptance in the community of Santa Monica.

Deadline: The deadline to submit proposals is Wednesday, April 26. Email your designconcept or questions about the photobooth project to samopride@cgevents.co.

Colors of PRIDE is funded in partnership with Santa Monica Cultural Affairs.
