Santa Monica residents Anna Cummins and Dr. Marcus Eriksen have sailed over 15,000 miles across the world's ocean studying plastic trash. After a with the Algalita Marine Research Foundation, the tow built a raft from 15,000 plastic bottles and sailed from Long Beach to Hawaii. With the new 5 Gyres Project, Anna and Marcus are studying five major oceans where plastic is believed to collect. Find out what you can do to help solve the problem of plastic in the oceans, and learn about upcoming 5 Gyres expeditions to the South Atlantic and South Pacific.
